Because College Doesn't Happen By Chance®

Below is a list of scholarships for the 2023 graduating seniors.  This list may be subject to change and will be updated as scholarships are confirmed.  Scholarships are awarded to resident students of South Eastern School District attending Kennard Dale High School or York County School of Technology.  Application season opens November 15, 2022.  The application deadline is March 20, 2023.   Scholarships will be awarded at the South Eastern Dollars for Scholars Awards Ceremony on May 24, 2023 at 7:00 PM in Kennard Dale High School Auditorium.

American Education Scholarship:  One (1) scholarship in the amount of $900 to be awarded to a student attending a college/university, technical, or trade school.  $1,000

Anita McLaughlin Memorial Scholarship: Students must enroll in a college, business or technical school. $2,500

Be A Giver:  Student must have a 3.0 GPA, played at least one year of a Varsity sport, and be pursuing a 4-year degree.  Preference will be given to a student who has played basketball or football and/or pursuing an Education major.  Three (3) Scholarships at $2,000 each.

D. Reed Anderson Scholarship:  Student must be attending a 4-year college or university, and show involvement in community service and extracurricular activities.  $5,000

Dale R. McCleary Memorial Scholarship:  To qualify for this scholarship, students will need an additional reference and complete a custom essay question.  Emphasis is placed on community service.  One scholarship $500

Daniel  P. Wernig Scholarship:  Merit based scholarship.  Student must be attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university in pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor's degree, or Vocational/Technical school in a Certificate Program.  $1,000

D.E.L.T.A. Scholarship (Delta Educates Leaders to Achieve):  Student must have attended Delta-Peach Bottom Elementary for three years and be continuing any education beyond high school including technical/trade school or 2- or 4-year school.  $1,000

Devilbiss Technical Scholarship: Student must enroll in a business or technical school. $1,000 payable @ $500/year for 2 years

Elizabeth C. Neal Memorial Scholarship: Students must enroll in a four-year college or university as an allied health major preferably as a nursing major.  This scholarship is only for female applicants. $2,000

Exelon Employees STEM Scholarship:  Student must be attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university in pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor's degree, or Vocational/Technical school in a Certificate Program and majoring in a STEM related field.  $1,000

Exelon Generation, Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station - STEM Scholarship: Up to four (4) scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing undergraduate degrees in any of the STEM related fields.  Ideally, one student pursuing engineering, one chemistry, and one environmental studies). $2,500 each

Fred M. and Bertha Evans Memorial Scholarship:  Awarded to a student attend a 4-year college or university to obtain a Bachelor's degree.  One scholarship (1) at $8,000

Helen L. DeVoe Memorial Scholarship: Student must be attending a 2-year or 4-year college, university or an accredited vocational/technical school.  Post-secondary degree type must be Bachelors, Associates, or some other type of Accredited Certificate in Technical Trades or Business.  Two scholarships @ $500 each

Hushon Family Scholarship:  One scholarship will be awarded to a student with an Agriculture related major including Agriculture Business or Engineering, Natural Sciences, Nursing or the trades.  Student must be entering a 2- or 4-year college or trade school.  $1,000

John H. Beakes, Sr. & Martha A. Beakes Memorial Fund ScholarshipStudent must be attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university in pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor's degree, or Vocational/Technical school in a Certificate Program.  $500 

Johnson Controls STEM Scholarship:  One (1) scholarship to be awarded to a student pursuing a degree in engineering, but may also include other areas of science, technology, or math.  $1,000

Kennard Dale Class of 2021 Scholarship: Students must enroll in a college, business or technical school. There will be two scholarships; one given to a female student and one to a male student.  Only applicable to students graduating from Kennard Dale High School. $1,000 each

Mason-Dixon Business Association Scholarship:  One (1) scholarship will be awarded based upon evidence of financial need.  $1,000 each

O'Neill Orthodontics Health Science Scholarship:  Students must enroll in a college, business or technical school. Students must pursue a health-care career. $500

P. Cooper Boyd Memorial Scholarship:  Student must enroll in a college or university as a math, science or engineering major. $1,000

Peach Bottom Township Supervisors Scholarship: Students must enroll in a college, business or technical school. Student must be a resident of Peach Bottom Township.  $1,000

Rita Sebring Memorial Scholarship:  One scholarship will be awarded with preference given to a student attending University of Pennsylvania or Drexel University and to student athletes who are multiple sport Varsity Letter recipients.  Scholarship is Merit based only.  $2,500

Rolland and Jean Morris Scholarship: Students must enroll in a college, business or technical school. $2,000

Saubel's Markets Scholarship:  Student must be attending a 2-year or 4-year technical school or college.  Emphasis is placed on evidence of financial need.  $2,000 payable @ $500/yr over 4 years.

South Eastern Dollars for Scholars Chapter Scholarships:  Up to five (5) scholarships may be awarded.  Student must enroll in a 2-year or 4-year college, or credited business or technical school.   $1,500 each

South Eastern Dollars for Scholars Endowment Fund Scholarships:  Up to two (2) scholarships may be awarded.  Student must enroll in a 2-year or 4-year college, or credited business or technical school.  $1,500 each

South Eastern Support Staff Scholarship:  No minimum GPA required. Eligible students include anyone continuing any education beyond high school including attendance at a technical/trade school, or 2- or 4-year school.  Three (3) scholarships at $500 each

Stewartstown Lions Club:  Student must have a 3.7 GPA or above, and participate in an extracurricular activity (sports, arts, or any school sponsored activity).  Two scholarships @ $1,000 each

Stock and Leader School Law Scholarship:  Student must be pursuing a career in the field of education or law.  One scholarship $500

T. Richard Morris Scholarship: Students must enroll in a college, business or technical school. $2,000

The Steward of Talents Scholarship:  Merit based scholarship.  Student must be attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university in pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor's degree, or Vocational Technical school in a Certificate program.  Student must work on average 10 or more hours per week.  $1,000

York County Community Foundation offers Designated (SESD) and Competitive (York County) scholarships for which students of Kennard-Dale High School or York County School of Technology may be eligible.  This list may be subject to change and will be updated as scholarships are confirmed.  Scholarships at this time are listed below:

Designated Scholarships:

  • York County Community Foundation Anna, Bennett & John Pearson Scholarship  - Student must demonstrate financial need. Student must be attending a two- or four-year college pursuing an associates or bachelor degree or vocational technical school pursuing a specialized certification.  One (1) scholarship @ $1,500
  • York County Community Foundation Doris E. Schwartz Scholarship  - Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates a financial need.  Student must be attending a two- or four-year college pursuing an associates or bachelor degree or vocational technical school pursuing a specialized certification.  One (1) scholarship @ $4,000
  • York County Community Foundation Dorothy Moore-Stauffer Scholarship  - Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates a financial need.  Student must be attending a two- or four-year college pursuing an associates or bachelor degree or vocational technical school pursuing a specialized certification.  One (1) scholarship @ $1,250

Competitive Scholarships:

  • Robert R. Anderson Family Fund - Open to students pursuing studies in agriculture or improving farm productivity.  Demonstrated evidence of financial need. Student must be admitted and plan to attend an accredited college, university, or technical/trade school full-time.  $1,500
  • Randy Byrnes Girls Soccer Scholarship - Open to Female students who have participated on a high school soccer team. Student must be admitted and plan to attend an accredited college, university, or technical/trade school full-time. $500
  • Herbert S. and Louella B. Dallmeyer - Open to students pursuing studies related to water resource conservation, environmental law or general environmental students with preference given to students pursuing studies related to water resource conservation. Student must be admitted and plan to attend an accredited college, university, or technical/trade school full-time.  $1,000
  • Marea V. Eyster Memorial Scholarship - Student must be admitted and plan to attend Millersville University full-time pursuing a career in education.  Demonstration of financial need must be demonstrated.  $750
  • Bob Potts Memorial Scholarship - Open to student who has participated on the cross country team, and be admitted and plan to attend an accredited college, university, or technical/trade school full-time.  $1,000
  • Florence B. and Clyde W. Stouch Scholarship - Admitted and plans to attend University of Pennsylvania full-time pursuing studies leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree.  Demonstrated evidence of financial need.  $500
  • Royal A. Cannon Jr. Scholarship Fund - Student must be accepted to an accredited college, university, or technical/trade school.  Preference given to students attending one of the US Merchant Marine academies or, if none, preference given to students studying science, technology, engineering or math at the school of their choice.  Demonstrated evidence of financial need.  $5,000  (This scholarship is a renewable scholarship payable at $1,250/year for a maximum of four years as long as student continues to meet scholarship criteria.)
